6 Months of TKZ: The Full Results Breakdown + What's Next for 2026

Six months ago, we pressed go on The King Zone.

June 12th, 2025. That was day one. And now, sitting here on December 23rd with a mince pie in hand, I wanted to take a step back and give you the full rundown on where we've landed.

The Results: 2,952 Bets Later

Let's get straight into it.

From June 12th to December 22nd, official tips (Golden Bullets, Good Ruffies, and Backs) have returned +6.1% at high price across 2,952 bets for 676 winners at a strike rate of 22.9%.

Now, context matters here. The average of the high price across all horses sits at around -5%. So we're beating that benchmark by 11%.

Is it where I want to be? Not yet. I want to push that to +10%. But we're profitable, we're ahead of the market, and we're improving.

The Improvement is Real

Here's something I haven't talked about publicly until now.

I split the results into two periods:

June 12 – September 30: +4.6% at high price across roughly 1,500 bets.

October 1 – December 22: +7.5% at high price across roughly 1,400 bets.

That's a 3% improvement in the back half of the year.

Why? Because I made changes. I went deeper into the data. I looked at where the edge was strongest - certain price ranges, certain race types, certain conditions - and I leaned into those areas harder.

The grind never stops. You can't sit on your hands in this game. The market adapts, so we have to adapt faster.

The Honest Truth About Market Impact

One thing I've been analysing is how much I affect my own prices.

When you're selling information and betting off that same information, you're going to move the market. It's unavoidable. After doing a deep dive, I reckon we're leaving about 3-4% on the table purely from market impact.

That's the cost of doing business at this level. Every professional punter deals with it. I'm not hiding from it - I just want you to understand the reality of what we're working with.

Hong Kong is Live

Three weeks ago, we launched Hong Kong racing on TKZ.

Early days, but we've had some good results. Tipped the first four winners on top one Sunday, and we're showing a profit so far (though I haven't run the full numbers yet).

Here's what I can tell you: there's more value in Hong Kong fixed odds than there is in Australia right now. The markets aren't as sharp. If you can get on - even small amounts - it's worth having a look.

TKZ in Venues: The Rollout Begins

Last week we went live in three venues:

• The Oak – Double Bay
• The Henry – Blue Mountains
• Gregory Hills

If you're near any of these spots, get in there. The Oak does a 10/10 steak sandwich. The Henry has one of the best chicken parmas going around (with a side of gravy, obviously).

Here's what I'm focused on:

1. Push official tips to +10% ROI. We're at 6.1%. I want 10.
2. Improve Selection One. Currently sitting at +3.76%. I want that at +5%.
3. Expand Hong Kong coverage. There's value there and I want to find more of it.
4. Roll out TKZ to more venues. We've got three. I want thirty.

The year's been a grind. It always is. But we're showing a profit, we're improving every month, and I'm more confident than ever heading into 2026.
